Medical Laserinstitute Doctors Portal
A platform for networking doctors and patients
With the Medical Laserinstitute, biolitec AG is pursuing the goal of establishing a network of doctors who work with the company's products. A portal was conceived as a platform for doctors to exchange information and for patients to make contact, the frontend of which was to be designed and developed by us. We were given specific requirements for this, which specified the structure, functionality and a rough direction for the design. The backend, where doctors register and manage their information, was implemented by an external service provider, so we had to bring the two together in close collaboration.
Web portal with login area for registered doctors
We implemented the frontend for the Medical Laserinstitute portal using the Nuxt framework. The customer can use the Strapi content management system to publish and edit content on the specialties and treatments as well as the blog posts. Our frontend is connected to the backend via a REST API so that content from both the CMS and the doctors' area can easily flow into the website.

Search for suitable doctors in the vicinity
The core of the portal is the doctor search. Visitors can search specifically for a specialty or treatment that is offered nearby. To display the nearest doctors, users can put in a desired location or have their current location automatically recorded via a geolocation API. In this way, precise results can be displayed, listed in ascending order of distance. This ensures that patients can quickly and easily find suitable doctors that meet their needs.
Contacting the desired doctor
The search takes users to the profile, where they can find out more about the doctor, the practice and the treatments offered. If this information is convincing, an appointment can be requested. The desired treatments and relevant data are entered via a form and sent directly to the doctor.
Extensive information on detailed pages and in blog articles
In order to increase search engine rankings and provide potential patients with extensive information about the treatments on offer, the portal has been filled with numerous content pages. Specialties and treatments offered by the doctors in the Medical Laserinstitute network are explained extensively in subpages with texts, FAQs and downloads. A blog also addresses health topics that may be relevant for patients as well as doctors. There are links between treatments, blog articles and doctors on all pages to stimulate curiosity and trigger an appointment request.
Internal blog for registered doctors
In order to promote exchange within the network, a second, internal blog has been added to which only registered doctors have access. Here they have the opportunity to address new technologies, treatment methods and other health-related topics and discuss them in a comment function.
Biolitec
Biolitec is a Vienna-based company specializing in the development, production, and marketing of medical technology and devices, particularly in the field of laser therapy. It develops and produces laser devices for minimally invasive procedures in urology, proctology, gynecology, and other specialties. Biolitec's products and solutions are offered for the treatment of conditions such as enlarged prostate, varicose veins, and tumors.
