Background & Objective

From Manual Orders to a Standardized Online Process

Otto Lehmann GmbH wanted to streamline the ordering process for its products. Orders, which had previously been processed by phone or email, were to be replaced by a standardized online ordering process for all customers. The goal was to reduce the workload on employees so they could focus on post-order service.



Our Solution

Online product platform with an integrated ordering system

We developed a product platform for Otto Lehmann based on the Laravel and Nuxt frameworks. We implemented the design based on the corporate identity created by our partner agency, KD1, in Cologne. The platform allows employees of client companies to log in to their accounts, select products, and add them to a consolidated order. Orders are automatically transferred to Otto Lehmann’s ERP system, where they can be processed directly.
 


Management of Registration Requests 

Otto Lehmann’s sales department manages users of the product platform. The platform is available exclusively to existing customers. When new registration requests are received, the sales department is notified and verifies whether the applicant is an existing customer.

Central Company Management 

Each user is automatically assigned to their company based on their customer number. An administrator of this user group manages access permissions and can add new employees. This ensures that all orders are visible to all employees, and the order history remains transparent

Extensive product catalog with flexible search 

Otto Lehmann’s product range includes numerous product variants. Since most customers are wholesalers with a fixed product range, they can find products by category, using the full-text search, or directly by item number. All relevant information—such as prices, availability, and technical specifications—is visible at a glance.

Quick Ordering for Regular Customers 

To make it easier for customers—especially those with a smaller product range—to place repeat orders, there is a "Reorder" feature. This feature displays the items most recently ordered by all employees of a company, making them easy to find.

Flexible Delivery Address Management 

Customers can create and manage multiple delivery addresses, as they sometimes need to have orders delivered to multiple locations or construction sites. Alternatively, it is possible to enter a different address if none of the saved delivery addresses are suitable.
