Background & Objective

Accessible Website for a Sociocultural Center

Odonien, a sociocultural center in Cologne, needed a new website. The site was designed to provide visitors with information about the venue and its events. The creative, industrial charm of this cultural venue—characterized by the sculptures and installations of artist Odo Rumpf—was also to be reflected in the web design.

Our Solution

An accessible website with artistic merit

We developed an accessible website that complies with WCAG 2.1 requirements while incorporating the cultural center’s artistic concept into the web design. We used Strapi as a headless CMS and Nuxt as a front-end framework as the technical foundation. This combination allows the Odonien team to manage content easily and flexibly while ensuring high-performance rendering.

Central Calendar of Club and Cultural Events

The calendar lists club and cultural events separately. This allows visitors to filter specifically for the events that are relevant to them.

Free State for Art and Culture

Odonien

Odonien is a sociocultural center for Cologne’s independent arts scene, created by steel artist Odo Rumpf. It combines an open-air studio, a workshop, an event venue, and a sculpture park into a gathering place for art, culture, and creative expression. The site is characterized by its industrial charm, featuring metal sculptures and installations. It also offers a diverse program of concerts, theater performances, flea markets, open-air cinema, and festivals such as “Robodonien.”
