Initial situation & goal

Simplifying the submission of events for Digital Week

With the growing public interest in Digitale Woche Kiel, the number of companies and freelancers who want to submit events there is also increasing. In order to reduce the administrative burden, the Kieler Wirtschaftsförderung has commissioned us to develop an organizer portal. This portal is intended to make it easier for potential organizers to submit their events. At the same time, it should enable those responsible for Digitale Woche Kiel to check and approve or reject them.

Our solution

Development of a Laravel backend with REST API and Nuxt frontend for event management

We have developed our own application for the event organizer portal, which is optimized for use on both mobile and desktop devices. Interested companies and freelancers can easily create and manage events and corresponding speakers there. In addition, the portal enables the management of further data records from the events, such as contact persons, event locations and co-organizers.

Approval process for the Digitale Woche editorial team

Submitted events are not automatically included in the Digital Week program. Instead, the editorial team can decide which submissions are suitable and should be approved. This ensures that not every event makes it into the program unfiltered. The editorial team also has the option of highlighting certain events or speakers on the website and thus placing particularly relevant topics or well-known personalities in a prominent position.

Interface connection to the website

Events that have been created in the portal and approved by the editorial team are automatically displayed in the Digitale Woche program before and during the festival. All information and data records entered by the organizers are transferred to the event entry.
