With almost 44,000 employees, it is one of the world's largest scientific research organizations. Its aim is to research and solve complex scientific and social challenges, including issues relating to energy, health, the environment, climate and technology. The association is committed to promoting science and innovation in Germany and helps to strengthen the national research landscape.
