Relaunch of an outdated and historically grown system
For over 75 years, the WLV has been the representative body for people working in agriculture and forestry in Westphalia-Lippe. The regional structure with 19 district associations and around 480 local associations ensures that opinions are formed by the member base and thus a transparent and successful representation of interests. With around 38,000 members, the WLV is the largest sub-association of the German Farmers' Association.
Web portal with member area & district association microsites
The WLV website contains a wide range of content and offers a wealth of information and services for the association's members. After logging in, members can access exclusive information and offers from the association via a protected area. All district associations have their own microsites within the web portal. It is also possible to create separate microsites for special topics on which a particular focus is to be placed.

Custom Headless CMS
We implemented a completely customized CMS based on Laravel and Vue.js for the editorial work in the national association and the district associations. We used our specially developed scaffolding package "Macrame" as the basis for the CMS and customized and expanded existing basic functions. This enabled us to effectively implement even very specific requirements for the administration of web content and deliver a customized tool for the editors.
Content management system
In addition to the pure administration of content, the CMS also maps editorial workflows and acts as a central editorial system for a large number of employees at the various administrative levels in the association. Editors at the district associations, for example, manage their own district association microsite, while editors at the regional association headquarters manage the content at the regional level. An algorithm also supports the placement of temporarily relevant messages on the homepage.
Interface connection
An admin panel provides administrators in the CMS with various interfaces, e.g. to an app and a newsletter system (Brevo). Content can thus be managed centrally and automatically displayed on other channels in addition to the website, such as the app or in newsletters.
Westfälisch-Lippischer Landwirtschaftsverband e.V.
The "Westfälisch-Lippischer Landwirtschaftsverband" (Westphalian-Lippe Agricultural Association, WLV), is a member association of the German Farmers' Association and campaigns for the interests of farmers and rural families. The WLV was founded in 1946 and has its headquarters in Münster. It pursues the goal of sustainable and competitive agriculture and supports family farms.
The association offers its members a wide range of services, such as advice on legal and economic issues, support with funding applications and training courses. In addition, the WLV is involved in public relations work to strengthen the understanding and appreciation of agriculture among the population. The WLV is thus an important voice in agricultural policy and contributes to strengthening rural regions and securing the livelihoods of farmers.
