Art university in Kiel

The Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel is the only art academy in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is named after the architect Hermann Muthesius. It was founded in 1907 as the Werkkunstschule, was rededicated as the Fachhochschule für Kunst und Gestaltung in 1994 and has been the youngest art college in Germany since 2005. The courses offered include fine arts, spatial strategies, art teaching at grammar schools as well as communication and industrial design.
